The Reference Service assists students, faculty, and researchers in locating accurate and credible information. This service focuses on in-library materials and academic resources that support coursework, research papers, and projects.

📌 Specific Services

• Quick Reference Assistance: Answers to factual questions (definitions, dates, statistics).
• Research Guidance: Step-by-step help in finding sources for assignments and thesis work.
• Catalog Search Assistance: Help using OPAC or manual catalog system.
• Database Navigation: Guidance in accessing e-books, journals, and digital libraries.
• Citation Support: Basic help with APA/MLA formatting.

📚 Reference Collection Policy

• Reference books are marked with "REF" labels.
• Materials must be used within the reference section only.
• These include encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, and handbooks.
• Photocopying is allowed for limited pages (subject to copyright rules).

🧭 How to Use the Reference Service

1. Approach the Reference Desk.
2. State your topic or research question clearly.
3. The librarian will suggest books, articles, or databases.
4. All materials must be used within the reference area only.
5. Return materials to the designated return table after use.

⚠️ Limitations

• Reference materials are not for borrowing.
• Users may consult a maximum of 2–3 reference books at a time within the Reference Area.
• Group discussions are not allowed in the reference section.
• Food and drinks are strictly prohibited.

• Available for consultation during library hours.
• Provides topic refinement for research.
• Recommends credible and updated sources.
• Assists in avoiding plagiarism through proper citation guidance.
