The Circulation Service is responsible for the management, control, and monitoring of all library materials that are loaned to users. This includes the borrowing, returning, renewal, and reservation of books and other resources. The service ensures that all users are given fair and equal access to library collections while maintaining proper accountability of materials.

It also serves as the primary service point where students, faculty, and staff interact with library personnel regarding the use of physical resources. The circulation desk handles user records, borrowing history, and policy implementation in accordance with institutional guidelines.

📌 Services Offered

• Book Borrowing: Allows registered users to borrow available library materials for a specified period.
• Book Return: Accepts returned materials and updates the system accordingly.
• Renewal Service: Extends the borrowing period of materials if no prior reservation exists.
• Reservation Service: Enables users to reserve materials currently checked out by other borrowers.
• User Account Assistance: Provides support in checking borrowing status, due dates, and penalties.

📋 General Guidelines

• All users must present a valid school ID before borrowing any library material.
• Library materials must be used responsibly and returned on or before the due date.
• Borrowers are fully responsible for all materials issued under their account.
• Any damage, marking, or loss of materials must be reported immediately to library staff.
• Silence and proper conduct must be observed at all times within the circulation area.

📚 Borrowing Policies

• Students are allowed to borrow a maximum of 2–3 books at a time.
• The standard borrowing period ranges from 3 to 7 days depending on the type of material.
• Faculty members may be granted extended borrowing privileges based on academic needs.
• Reference materials, rare books, and archives are for library use only and cannot be borrowed.
• All borrowed items must be recorded through the official circulation system.

💸 Fines and Penalties

• Overdue materials are subject to a daily fine determined by library policy.
• Failure to settle fines may result in temporary suspension of borrowing privileges.
• Lost materials must be replaced with the same title and edition, or paid based on current market value.
• Damaged materials will be assessed, and corresponding repair or replacement costs will be charged.
• Unreturned books may result in clearance holds during enrollment or graduation.

🔄 Renewal Policy

• Borrowed materials may be renewed once or twice depending on availability and demand.
• Renewal requests must be made before or on the due date.
• Materials with existing reservations are not eligible for renewal.
• Renewals may be processed at the circulation desk or through the online system (if available).

📌 Reservation Policy

• Users may place reservations on books that are currently borrowed by other users.
• Reserved materials will be held for a limited period upon return.
• Failure to claim reserved items within the allowed time will result in cancellation of the reservation.
• Priority is given based on the order of reservation requests.

• Ensure all borrowed materials are returned on time and in good condition.
• Regularly check due dates and account status.
